Master-class from Natasha: Mongolian Grill – Tasty Dish in only 30 minutes!

This dish has two advantages – short cooking time and no exotic, hard-to-find products or spices. This recipe is an adapted version of the main dish from “Mongolian Grill” restaurant. It can be quickly prepared after a day at work or when you’re about to have a small company over.

Supplies list:

mongolian grill 001
  1. Pasta
  2. Meat
  3. Onions
  4. Vegetable oil
  5. Any vegetables (but I never used vegetables such as radishes, beets or potatoes for this dish). Best: squash, tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli. The more veggies, the tastier is the end product.
  6. Salt, pepper and spices like Luzianne Cajun Seasoning (milder) or Original Creole Seasoning (hotter).

Original version of this dish requires some special sauce, which I couldn’t find. Thanks to them you can mix pretty much anything in the grill. As a substitute, I use natural juices from the vegetables. So this is my secret – to have juicy vegetables in the mix, such as tomatoes or zucchinis.

I always start by sautéing onions.

After it turns slightly golden, add meat (here is another secret – the more expensive the meat is, the better) :-). I prefer beef.

mongolian grill 003

Slightly brown the meat pieces and start cooking pasta.

Pasta cooking time depends on the type, can be anywhere between 3 and 10 minutes, check the package directions. While pasta is cooking, add salt, pepper and spices to taste. The next secret is that all vegetables have different cooking times, so the order is important for best results. As I said before, onions go in first. If you have carrots, it goes in after the meat.

Then squash and bell peppers.

When pasta is ready, it goes in and everything gets mixed together.

And then add broccoli and tomatoes.

mongolian grill 010

Don’t sauté broccoli or tomatoes for more than 2 minutes, otherwise they will loose their taste. After 2 minutes with broccoli and tomatoes – voila, you have a tasty meal!
